Who killed Norman Toppel Jr.?
On Saturday night, March 24th, 1990, a crime took place between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Supposedly, on Central Park Ave., between 12th and 26th St., Norman and his friends were stopped at a light and exchanged a few words with a group of males across the street. Gunfire rang out and Norman was shot. Allegedly, one of his friends drove from the passenger side for blocks with one hand on the wheel and one foot on the petal. He pulled a bus over for help and the bus driver radioed in to get help. Minutes later, the police arrived.
Three days later, at the age of eighteen, Norman Toppel Jr. died.

How can someone live with their self and not say a word….. How can my friends live with themselves and not say a word…
Amy- That is interesting and intriguing isn’t it?. How is it possible that “your” friends have lived with themselves for nearly 30 years keeping a secret while they raise their own families, raise their own children and everything else that comes along with that? The curious thing about secrets is this much, over time, those involved…as they get older…tend to become weaker. Especially when they were weak individuals to begin with.
My poor uncle if only I could see him today I miss him soo much. 😦
Love u Normie & still miss u everyday!!!! I hate not having one of my closest friends to talk to and get advise from. I wish u were here so I could have one of my bf still around to talk to. To be able to see you and your children grow up would have been one of our greatest moments not just me but yr own family would’be love to see that. You were murdered and taken away from everyone way to soon and I hate them for that.
Thanks to the very selfish people who took yr life. The memories will always remain and now that is all family and friends can hold on to.

I remember that tragic day. the whole neighborhood was shocked at this tragedy. I am only sorry that the person or persons have not been apprehended. they have to live with this tragic event and more so they have to answer to God. my thoughts are always with your family. may God bless your family.

26 years later and the detectives are asking me questions. Has there been a break in the case? Anyone in custody?
Marc. I am almost certain that, two years after you made this comment, you now realize how desperate you sound when you re-read it. Not everybody is comfortable talking to the Police. That is understandable. Having said that much, it’s not only just the Police department that is interested in finding justice for Normie. I love making new friends. I especially love making new friends that may shed some light on the murder of Norman Toppel, Jr. Send me an email.
Can I ask how you knew Norman? I’m so heartbroken no one was ever held accountable. I lost touch with Jason & Dennis. I never got any answers from them when I asked years ago. Norms mom is always in my thoughts. I was so hoping she would get justice.
This is Norman’s mom Kathy. Norman’s death is because of Jason and Dennis. They are responsible for Norman’s death. I will never stop trying to get Dennis to go to jail for Norman’s death. Sorry i did get back to you. Mrs Toppel

So very sorry for your loss. My son would have turned 40 years old this October. You NEVER forget, THEY are missed at FAMILY celebrations. I think of my son Sean often. I know we will meet again.
Find Solace in the fact that your son is not far away. You will be with him again.
